" Working for Justice and Peace is a Question of Balance."

Created in 2002, as a Justice and Peace as a Commission with the appointment of 12 persons (clergy, religious and lay faithful) representing the Pastoral zones that make up the Archdiocese. In 2007 it was transformed into a Service, the Justice and Peace Service, which is a technical arm of the Commission and according to the Provincial Pastoral Plan, it is the technical secretariat of the local Ordinary who is also President of the Commission as a whole.

The Justice and Peace Commission is the combination of the Service and staff together with the Executive Members of the Commissions at the Archdiocesan level.Exco Members of the Archdiocesan Commission are elected but the Head of the service and staff are appointed and recruited as the case may be and in relation to their competence and devotion to producing results.

JPS works from the grassroots to the provincial, regional and national levels through its Justice and Peace Commissions at these levels and makes valuable contributions in transforming lives, systems and structures.
