Promoting Human Rights and Conflict Management in the Archdiocese of Bamenda

The Justice and Peace Commission with this project intends to contribute towards improving the living conditions of the inhabitants of the Bamenda Region through promoting the respect for and compliance with civil and general human rights, democratic rules and condemnation of corruption. The project has 3 Specific Objectives:

1) Access to justice for vulnerable  groups in the North West Region has improved

2) To promte the respect of the land use rights of local communitiesregarding land and othernaturalresources in the area of large governmentprojects

3) To ensurethatlocal communitiesdevelop non-violent methods of resolving local conflicts

The Justice and Peace Service in a bit to strengthen its capacity in Monitoring and Evaluation enrolled the Capacity Building & Communications Officer (CBCO) of the Service in a 04 Day Workshop on Results-Based Monitoring And Evaluation (RBM&E) organized by the West Africa Civil Society Institute (WACSI), East Legon – Accra, Ghana.

Working Visits to the Balikumbat Parish

The Justice and Peace Commission paid two Working Visits to St. Mary's Main Station Balikumbat, Holy Family Mission Station Bafanji, and St. Paul's Mission Station, Bamukumbit in the Balikumbat Parish on the 8th and 22nd of February 2015 with the aim of ensuring organizational effectiveness and efficiency, a result area in its new Strategic Plan 2015 – 2020.
