This One Day Workshop organized by the Justice and Peace Commission of the Archdiocese of Bamenda within the framework of the Faith and Liberation Network, sponsored by Mensen meteen Messie (MM) took place on the 29th July 2014 at the Paul VI Memorial Pastoral Centre, Bamendankwe.
It brought together participants from the Justice and Peace and Social Welfare Commissions of the Dioceses of Bamenda, Buea, Mamfe and Kumbo.
During this learning forum, participants were encouraged to share their experiences on Fundraising (Opportunities and Constraints). To enable a better understanding, the facilitator, Mr Etono Apollinaire, a seasoned International Consultant highlighted the situation of India on the road to sustainability.
Highlighting fundraising concepts, the facilitator emphasized the importance of projecting the human face of our work, making it easy for donors to support, telling the truth, asking for the right amount, and planning, amongst others. Key to all these are Transparency, Accountability and Credibility.
Participants were also introduced to the various steps in the fundraising process and in group exercises, they did practical work in relation to their various organizations as a start-up of the process of fundraising for their Services. At the end of the workshop, participants were encouraged to continue work with their other colleagues back in their respective services so as to effectively put up a Fundraising Policy Document for their Services.
