12TH MEMORIAL OF THE DEATH OF A TEACHER & ADVOCATE OF JUSTICE & PEACE

Posted in Protection of Rights of Vulnerable Groups in the Archdiocese of Bamenda (Nov. 2021 - Dec. 2024).

Today, we join the universal Church, particularly in the Ecclesiastical Province of Bamenda to celebrate the life of His Grace PAUL MBIYBE VERDZEKOV, Late Archbishop Emeritus of the Archdiocese of Bamenda.

As a testimony of justice and peace, he established the Justice and Peace Commission in the Archdiocese of Bamenda on the 12th of December 2002 and wrote widely on issues related to this subject.

One of his writings which has been of great inspiration to the Service is his famous ‘MESSAGE TO ALL CHRISTIANS ON CHILD TRAFFICKING’ published Monday 29th August 2005, Memorial on the Beheading of St. John the Baptist.

He was Chief Shepherd of Catholic Archdiocese of Bamenda from March 18th 1982 – January 23rd 2006.

‘Blessed are those who die in the Lord . . . for they will rest from their hard work; for their good deeds follow them!’ (Revelation 14:13)
