Exploring the Work of Justice and Peace Commission Members in Parishes

We recently hosted a productive work session with 21 Justice and Peace Commission members from five deaneries, including Bafut, Azire, Akum, Bayelle, and Futru. Participants engaged in discussions on exploring the works of JPC members, monitoring and reporting human rights abuses, and developing community peace action plans.

Key highlights from the session included:

  • Training on human rights monitoring and reporting: Members received guidance on effective monitoring and reporting mechanisms.
  • Identifying challenges: Inadequate communication and limited resources were among the hurdles faced by JPC members.
  • Expectations from JPS: Regular training, improved communication, and enhanced collaboration were highlighted as key areas for support.

The session underscored the importance of teamwork in advancing justice, peace, and human rights. Moving forward, we’ll focus on implementing community peace plans and strengthening partnerships.

We’re grateful for the dedication of our JPC members and look forward to continued collaboration. Together, let’s keep working for justice, peace, and human rights in our communities!
