With technical support from Development Support Services, our staff participated in a 2-day training on Result-Based Project Implementation through MEALR.
Day one took the staff through an overview of MEALR, theory of change, logical framework, MEAL planning and Donor alignment. We also learned about the evolution of M&E to now include “R” for Reporting — emphasizing transparency and communication of results.
We were drilled on the importance of having a clear understanding of monitoring and evaluation and their technicalities, then tasked with designing M&E questions for an Access to Justice activity that can be implemented.
Day two was all about learning, accountability, and feedback mechanisms.We had practical sessions reviewing and updating our MEALR tools and systems for use in project implementation.
By the end of the training we were glad to have build an impressive foundation and understanding of MEAL concepts and their importance in projects;enhanced our practical capacity for better MEAL implementation as well as working towards revising our MEAL tools and reporting practices.
The training was interactive and illustrative, creating a conducive environment for learning and future implementation. We ended on a high note with a family picture and stronger bonds as a team.
