The Justice and Peace Service (JPS) of the Bamenda Archdiocese is intensifying efforts to equip commission members across parishes with a deeper understanding of their mandate, in line with the Provincial Pastoral Plan.
This ongoing sensitization and awareness campaign aims to clarify the role of Justice and Peace Commission (JPC) members at the parish level, while also informing the general public about the services the Commission provides in promoting peace, justice, human dignity, and social cohesion.
Reaching Communities Across Urban Bamenda
So far, the activity has been carried out in 9 parishes across 6 Deaneries in urban Bamenda. The parishes reached include:
Azire, Akum, Bayelle, Bafut, Bambui, and Futru.
Through interactive sessions, commission members are being guided to understand their calling and how to effectively represent JPC’s mission in their respective communities.
Impact and Response
The sensitization has already yielded encouraging results. Commission members report feeling renewed and more motivated in their service. Additionally, several Christians who attended the sessions have expressed a strong desire to join the Commission and contribute to its work.

Commitment to Building Strong Parish Teams
JPC Bamenda remains committed to ensuring that every parish has a well-informed and active Justice and Peace commission team capable of responding to the needs of the community. The Commission will continue rolling out the sensitization in more parishes in the coming weeks.
