The Justice and Peace Service, Archdiocese of Bamenda, was represented at this year’s FriEnt Peacebuilding Forum in Germany by our Coordinator, Mme Raphaela Kianda.
The FriEnt Peacebuilding Forum is a leading international platform that brings together peace practitioners, policymakers, and civil society actors to reflect on changing global realities and co-create practical pathways for sustainable peace.
Sharing her experience after the Forum, Mme Kianda said:
“The FriEnt Peacebuilding Forum has inspired my work by reminding me that peacebuilding is not simply about responding to conflict, but about creating the conditions for justice, dignity, participation, and sustainable peace.
The Forum created a valuable space for learning from diverse perspectives, reflecting on changing global realities, and exploring how we can co-create practical pathways for peace, particularly through youth leadership, climate action, global partnerships, and innovative approaches to peace and development.
My most important take-home message is that peace is a shared responsibility, and meaningful transformation requires us to move from dialogue to concrete collective action.
As Justice and Peace Service, this challenges us to strengthen collaboration, listen more intentionally to communities and young people, connect justice with peacebuilding, and translate the insights and relationships gained from such platforms into practical action within our own contexts.”
This participation reaffirms the commitment of the Justice and Peace Commission, Archdiocese of Bamenda, to continue building partnerships locally and globally for justice, peace, and development in line with SDG 16 – Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.
