Organized by Association For the Promotion of Women’s Rights & Peace Building(AP-WORP), we were represented in this dialogue session by our Peace and Development Officer Mali Martha-Noel.
Would you like to join us in reflecting on the issues below?

- What happens when families plead with survivors of rape to accept amicable settlement instead of seeking Justice legally for perpetrators to be punished?
- What happens when law enforcement officers who are supposed to protect survivors, instead undermine the seriousness of the abuse reported to them and refuse to act?
- What happens when lawyers who are supposed to hold the hands of survivors, are becoming very corrupt and choosing money over Justice?
- What happens when medical doctors who should be empathetic and care for patients, instead charge huge sums of money before issuing medicolegal certificates to vulnerable survivors of GBV?
These and more are difficult realities hindering the protection of GBV survivors in our communities.
In synergy with public administrators, the police, lawyers, INGO, NGO,religious, women and youth leaders as well as many other categories of persons who took part in this dialogue, we should take action and agree that “our focus should no longer be about survivors breaking the silence, but about how all stakeholders can render services that protect these survivors and help them get the Justice and healing they deserve”.
