The Justice and Peace Service, Archdiocese of Bamenda, recently commemorated the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons(TIP) 2025 with a powerful event that brought together stakeholders to raise awareness and promote action against human trafficking.
The Power of Art in Raising Awareness
The event, #PaintingAgainstTIP, engaged 20 stakeholders, including survivors, NGOs, legal experts, communicators, and educators, in a painting activity. This creative approach allowed participants to express themselves, share their stories, and foster empathy, highlighting the importance of art in promoting social change and healing.
A Platform for Storytelling and Awareness
Through this event, the Justice and Peace Commission aimed to promote storytelling, raise awareness about human trafficking’s causes and risks, and work towards a world free from exploitation. The painting activity provided a unique opportunity for participants to explore the issue and share their perspectives, encouraging action against human trafficking.
A Decade-Long Commitment
The Justice and Peace Commission has been dedicated to combating human trafficking for decades, with a significant impact in supporting survivors, advocacy, and community engagement. The Commission’s efforts have helped survivors heal, reunite with families, and rebuild their lives through livelihood initiatives, while also engaging in local, national, and international efforts to bring perpetrators to justice and raise awareness about this critical issue.
